VA Comic Con is Go!

October 28, 2011

Just a reminder, I’ll be appearing at the VA Comic Con in Richmond, VA this weekend (October 29 & 30) with the legendary Larry Hama and the great Herb Trimpe! I know that Larry and Herb will be doing a few panels, and one of them even I get to chime in on. So everyone come on out if you can!

OK gang, here are my images for the Marla Bea Benefit Auction for 2011. Remember, this is the last year for the auction for a while, as Jason is putting it on hold in 2012. If you can, please bid, often, and generously. It’s a great cause, and one we should all support.

As I promised, here are the wash versions of my sketches. To bid, and see more, check out the Marla Bea Benefit site.

Fashionistas! The lot of 'em!

Again, please bid for a great cause!

UPDATE: VA COMIC CON!

I didn’t know it before, but there’s even MORE reason for Joe fans to make the trek to the VA Comic Con. Not only will Herb Trimpe be there, but the legendary Larry Hama will be attending as well! As far as I know we’ll all be sitting together and the three of us will be doing a panel on the Hamaverse of Joe! I don’t know of any other time the three of us will be together again, so stack those books, and (as they used to say on the Price is Right) “come on down”!

For anyone in the Richmond area over the Halloween weekend,  I’ll be appearing at the Virginia Comic Con, Oct. 29-30. The legendary Herb Trimpe will also be there, so I hope some of you Joe fans will drop by. Check out their website for a list of other creators and events!

Meanwhile, I’m also attempting to wrap my head around the thing that is Manga Studio. I’ve been frustrated by it in the past, but every now and then I get the courage to try and figure it out. I’ll admit, it was a post by the great Stuart Immonen that prompted this time out. Due to past experiences with Manga Studio, I decided to take baby steps this time, and just play with the basics. So for now, here’s a little sketch based on the beautiful Lindze of Cosplay fame.

Lastly, don’t forget, the Marla Bea Benefit auction starts in a little over a week, so drop by the site and see what’s available. This year Jason’s young daughter is putting up images for auction as well. I hope those of you who can, will pitch in, and bid on something; again it’s a great cause.
